What exactly is an e-EPIC?

e-EPIC stands for electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card — it's a secure, non-editable PDF of your Voter ID with a QR code that can be scanned to verify authenticity. The Election Commission treats it as equally valid to the physical card, including as ID at polling booths.

Step-by-step: download your e-EPIC

1. Open the official Voter Services Portal at voters.eci.gov.in, or use the Voter Helpline app.
2. Sign in or register with your mobile number and verify the OTP sent to it.
3. Go to 'e-EPIC Download' and enter your EPIC number.
4. Verify with a second OTP sent to the mobile number linked to your voter record.
5. Download the PDF — it's ready to print or keep on your phone.

Don't know your EPIC number?

Use the 'Search in Electoral Roll' tool on the same portal — enter your name, age/date of birth and constituency, and it will look up your EPIC number for you before you go to the download step.

Common mistakes

• Trying to download with a mobile number that was never linked to the voter record — the OTP step will simply fail.
• Confusing e-EPIC download with new voter registration — download only works if you're already a registered voter; new registrations go through Form 6 instead.
• Printing at a very small size — keep it legible enough for the QR code to scan cleanly if it's checked.
