How to Download Your CoWIN Vaccination Certificate (and Fix Errors on It)
Downloading your COVID vaccination certificate takes an OTP and two clicks — fixing a wrong name or DOB on it takes one extra step people often miss.
EDTechToolsCenter EditorialCoWIN is the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare's platform for India's COVID-19 vaccination records. If you were vaccinated through the programme, your certificate is downloadable in a couple of minutes using just the mobile number you registered with at the time. For the full details and the official link, see our CoWIN Vaccination Certificate page.
What you need before you start
- The mobile number registered at the time of vaccination — access to it for OTP verification is required
- Valid supporting proof of the correct detail, only if you're raising a correction request

Step-by-step download
- Go to the official CoWIN portal (cowin.gov.in) and click Register/Sign In.
- Enter your registered mobile number and verify the OTP sent to it.
- Once signed in, open the Certificate section and select Download Certificate next to the relevant person's name.
- The certificate downloads as a PDF you can save, print or share as needed.
Fixing a wrong name, date of birth or photo ID number
Sign in the same way, then use "Raise an Issue" against the specific record with the incorrect detail, attaching valid proof of the correct information. This is the step people most often skip — they notice the error, don't fix it, and only run into trouble later when the certificate is checked against another ID for travel or verification purposes.
Other ways to get your certificate
Besides the CoWIN website, the certificate is also downloadable through DigiLocker's Health section, the Aarogya Setu app, and the UMANG app — useful if you already have one of those set up and don't want to sign in separately on CoWIN.
