FASTag is a reloadable tag that pays highway tolls automatically using RFID — and it's mandatory at National Highway toll plazas. Here's how to get one and keep it topped up. See our FASTag service page for the full document list.

How to buy a FASTag

  1. Choose an authorised issuing bank or provider.
  2. Buy the tag online or at a bank branch, toll plaza or point of sale.
  3. Submit your vehicle RC and KYC documents.
  4. Affix the tag on your windscreen as instructed.
  5. Recharge the linked wallet/account to start paying tolls automatically.

How to recharge FASTag

Recharge through your issuing bank's app or website, via UPI, or through NETC/UMANG channels linked to your FASTag. Keep a healthy balance so you're never stopped in the FASTag lane.

Always buy from an authorised issuer and complete KYC — an unverified tag has limits, and an unofficial seller can leave you with a non-working tag.

Common FASTag problems

  • Low balance — set up auto-recharge or UPI top-up.
  • Incomplete KYC — complete full KYC to lift transaction limits.
  • Tag not read — ensure it's correctly affixed and not damaged.
