UIDAI allows Aadhaar holders to correct or update demographic details — name, date of birth, gender, address, and language — either online through the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP) or in person at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Which route you use depends on what you're updating: address changes can usually be done fully online, while some fields (like date of birth beyond a small range, or biometrics) require a centre visit.

Most demographic fields (address, name spelling corrections, email) can be updated online via the Self Service Update Portal. Mobile number updates and biometric updates require an in-person visit to an Aadhaar centre.
