e-NAM (National Agriculture Market)

e-NAM is a pan-India electronic trading portal that networks existing physical APMC mandis into one unified national market, letting farmers list their produce for online bidding and reach buyers beyond their local mandi. The goal is better price discovery through wider competition among buyers, instead of a farmer being limited to whoever happens to be bidding at their nearest mandi that day.

Required documents

  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank account details (for payment)
  • Farmer/land record ID as required by the local mandi
  • Produce quality assay report (generated at the mandi during onboarding)

Eligibility

  • • Farmers registered with a participating, e-NAM-integrated APMC mandi
  • • Licensed traders and buyers registered on the platform

Step-by-step guide

  1. 1

Register at your nearest e-NAM-integrated mandi (check the official portal for the list of participating mandis in your state) or through your Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO).

  2. 2

Bring your produce to the mandi for quality assaying — this generates the quality report buyers see before bidding.

  3. 3

The produce lot is listed on the e-NAM platform for online bidding by registered traders.

  4. 4

Once bidding closes, the best bid is confirmed and the transaction is recorded on the platform.

  5. 5

Payment is settled through the linked bank account, and the trade is logged for both the farmer's and trader's records.

Official fees

Free for farmers to register. Trading involves standard mandi fees and commissions as set by the relevant state's APMC regulations, which vary by state and commodity.

How to apply

Through a participating APMC mandi · Through a registered Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)

Frequently asked questions

You need to be registered at a mandi that's actually integrated with e-NAM — check the official portal's list of participating mandis in your state before assuming your local one is covered.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • • Assuming every local mandi is automatically e-NAM-integrated without checking
  • • Skipping the quality assaying step, which is what gives buyers confidence to bid competitively
  • • Not keeping bank account details updated with the mandi, delaying payment settlement
