CPGRAMS (Public Grievance Redressal)

CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System) is the government's single online platform for citizens to lodge a complaint against any Central Government ministry, department or public authority, and track it through to resolution. It covers Central authorities directly; many states also link their own grievance portals through the same system.

Frequently asked questions

Grievances against Central Government ministries, departments, or public sector organisations — delayed services, unresolved applications, staff conduct issues, and similar administrative complaints. It's not a substitute for a police complaint or a legal/court matter.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • • Writing a vague complaint instead of a specific, factual description of the issue
  • • Filing a state-department complaint expecting Central-portal handling when it isn't integrated
  • • Losing the registration number needed to track and escalate the grievance
